SHOWS
This year's up-to-the-last-minute madness again features original works that will make you laugh, protest, or ponder your own role in society. You'll hum all the way home after one of many musical acts, too.
Scroll down the page to see the preliminary list of all our shows. Click a show's title to read more about it, who's in it, and purchase individual show tickets in advance. Most shows are $12 unless otherwise indicated. Or just buy a
Stampede Pass
and see them all. It's what we would do if we had $55.
Last year's Stampede Fest was the first theater festival of 2004 and included over 60 different performances of original works. It's examination of mass-luxury consumerism, Styrofoam by Kevin Doyle, was heralded in the press by the New York Times, while Platonov! Platonov! Platonov! or The Case of a Very Angry Duck, by Eric Michael Kochmer, was named one of the best plays in 2004 by nytheatre.com.

It's the not-so-distant future and The Boxhead Quartet is a band on
the verge of making it big. But a growing wave of anti-robot sentiment
is sweeping the nation. This has lead Bob (the humanoid drummer and
genius songwriter responsible for the trio's twenty-eight second radio
smash) into a desperate fit of very human depression. Can the rest of
the band put their artistic differences aside? Are listeners ready to
accept a robot rock band? Or, will the prevailing traps of ego and
bigotry once again rule the day? Love is Good is a bizarre skewering
of rock culture that also serves as a satiric morality play...Maybe.
